We are led by Robert Sykes, a decade-long practitioner and 2024 Queensland Law Society Solicitor of the Year Award finalist.
With a Masters in Family Law, Robert is able to provide clients with a deep, specialised understanding of the complexities of Family Law.

Rhianna Thomas
ASSOCIATE
Rhianna is understanding and empathetic and finds working in the field of family law to be very rewarding.
Rhianna enjoys helping people reach a good resolution; whether that means reaching a positive parenting agreement, or achieving a property settlement that provides both financial security and independence.
Prior to working with Armstrong Sykes, Rhianna gained experience across several areas of law including Property Law and Wills and Estates.
In her spare time, Rhianna enjoys spending time with her friends and blended family and going to as many live music gigs as possible.
Rhianna’s experience as a lawyer extends into the following areas: Family Law; Property law, primarily in conveyancing and off the plan contracts; and Wills & estates.

Chanel Sousa
LAWYER
Chanel was admitted to the legal profession in Queensland in May 2025 and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology and Justice, along with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. With experience across Property Law, Wills and Estates, and Family law, she has primarily practised in Family Law since 2022, although her career working in law began in 2019.
She is known for her client-focused approach, always prioritising the needs of those she represents and working collaboratively to achieve practical outcomes. Chanel brings a unique perspective and a keen attention to detail to her work.
Outside of her legal career, she is an outdoor enthusiast, a devoted mother, and an avid skydiver. Chanel's commitment to high standards and ethics has earned her a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy legal professional.
